Aces Driving & Traffic school is owned and operated by Jim and Cherie Gero, and has been serving Southwest Riverside County drivers for more than 20 years.
Jim Gero is a veteran of the U.S. army, having served in Vietnam where he was awarded the Bronze Star.
After receiving his B.A. from Boston State College, he worked in the food and beverage industry for 25 yrs, when he met his wife Cherie in San Diego. While working for American Driving School in San Diego, he discovered that Temecula and the surrounding communities did not have a driving school, so Cherie and Jim opened up Aces Driving School in 1992.
Their philosophy going into business was to have the best driving school in the area. That is true to this day 20 years later. It is their belief that learning to drive is one of the most important life skills a person can have. “There are not many things one will do everyday of their lives, driving is one of those. Learning the correct basics of driving the right way is the most important safety feature in driving a car.”

Cherie & Jim also are members of Hope Lutheran Church in Temecula where Cherie is a member of the hand bell choir.
Aces have been a member of the Temecula Chamber of Commerce for the last 20 years.
Cherie, having met Jim in San Diego, wanted to get out of the food and beverage business. With Jim having worked for a driving school in San Diego, and Jim discovering that there was not a driving school in the greater Temecula area, they decided to go into business together. In the last 20 years, Cherie has learned all about the business, being involved as a board member of the Driving School Association of California, the association which promotes the desire to give excellent driver education to its customers.
Our Purpose and Goal
Some people call and ask us why do we charge more money than other driving schools? Answer, because we teach more for your money!
Our purpose for being in business is to teach more to our students than other driving schools. In order to do this we use late model cars, and the newest, most up-to-date safest teaching techniques. We employ the finest staff at top wages, and we provide the best results of any driving school; safe, competent drivers who pass the drive-test the first time. Our passing rate is 98%. We are the only driving school in this area trained by the DMV to be licensed driving examiners.
We realize that you have a choice of schools to send your loves ones to; to learn the skill of their lives, and also that this skill involves a matter of life, death, or injury. We believe that driving is the most important skill a person can learn! It is a skill that will be used almost every day once a license is obtained!
There are more cars on the road today than ever before, and there is no end in sight. Approximately 30,000 people die on roads each year, and another 2&1/4 million people are injured. Sadly, new drivers are killed in the first year of driving at 20 times the rate of the general driving public! That’s why we are here, to bring change to those numbers. Driver training happens once in a lifetime. The more one learns during that training, the more skill one has to avoid accidents and hopefully tickets.
All driving schools are not alike. To keep our teaching skills current, we belong to trade associations such as THE DRIVING SCHOOL ASSOCIATION OF CALIFORNIA. We have been members for 20 years, serving in various capacities including President for two years. There are some schools out there JUST to make money, putting through as many students as possible. They teach as little as possible, offering the lowest prices, counting on volume to make their money.
We think your loved one is a very important person who deserves to learn more, not less, to survive on our very dangerous roadways. This is why we charge more.
